Bleiburg Loop

The Bleiburg loop brings southern Carinthia closer to the high-quality rail network. For travellers, the modernisation of this important connection to the Koralm Railway makes it possible to quickly reach the Klagenfurt and Graz areas.

Fit for the southern route

The city municipality of Bleiburg and the municipality of Feistritz ob Bleiburg are connected to the southern line via the Bleiburg loop and thus dock onto one of the most important main transport routes of the Baltic-Adriatic Corridor. For this purpose, since 2008, stops and stations have been gradually upgraded and modernised to make them accessible. This makes the connection to Slovenia equally attractive.

With the commissioning of the Koralm Railway in Carinthia at the end of 2023, the regional line will also achieve "green" status - all trains will run on 100 percent green traction current. The measures within the framework of the Koralm Railway project are financed by funds from ÖBB-Infrastruktur AG and the provinces of Carinthia and Styria. The Koralm Railway is also co-financed by the European Union.
