More efficiency with savings recommendation

    • Operationally relevant driving information in real time
    • Focus on essential content and highlighting updates
    • Energy saving and reduction of operational costs while ensuring punctuality
    • More efficient handling of traffic operations

Based on current timetable data and traffic conditions, train drivers get route-specific advices for the best speed and driving style to reduce energy consumption and stay on time. This minimizes unscheduled stops and improves operational flow. That way, rides with the savings recommendation are efficient, on time, resource- and cost-friendly.

    The savings recommendation in detail

    • Disposition decisions are displayed graphically in a compact form, ensuring quick information processing in the train driver's cab. If needed, a detailed explanation can be shown, making the savings recommendation easy to understand at any time.
The display of real-time updates was designed together with train drivers to provide optimal information while keeping distractions to a minimum.

Keeping an eye on everything important

    • Display of the most efficient speed for the current section of the route
    • Type of driving advice (depending on the reading direction), with a detailed explanation if needed
    • Start and end mileage of the current route section
    • Estimated arrival and departure time
    • Next driving advice

From timetable to smart timetable

    • Self-explanatory display
    • Multifunctional indicator
    • Display of special features along the route
    • Smooth linking of train-related content
    • Up-to-date timetables in real time

Instead of static documents, the content from various sources is linked together dynamically and intelligently. Operational points in the timetable can be selected to retrieve specific details or marked individually. A position indicator shows the current train position in the timetable. Thanks to the clear display of multiple timetables in different formats (ebulaML, PDF), the app can also be used across borders. The easy switch to alternative routes and the display with auto-scroll function of the timetable during the ride provide high user comfort and efficient processes.

    The smart timetable in detail

    • The smart timetable is designed to be interactive and adapts flexibly to the needs of users. You can open different timetables, sort them individually, and switch between them seamlessly during the train movement. The auto-scroll feature ensures that the relevant spot in the timetable is always in view. Clear icons make special route features like protected sections, commands, or slow zones immediately recognizable.

Compact overview before the train movement

    • If there are any orders or slow-speed sections for the registered train run, they are displayed clearly and structured according to open timetables and route sections. This way, train drivers get a clear and quick overview of all the relevant information before the movement starts.

Customizable display for more viewing comfort

    • The view can be customized to fit the specific driving situation: users can choose between light and dark modes, adjust the reading direction as they like, and quickly dim bright areas with the press of a button – perfect for night drives or tunnel passages.
The level of dimming can be selected in several steps to ensure the content is always clearly visible. Resetting to the previously set brightness is done with a single move, so there’s never any operationally relevant distraction.

    Flexible display of PDF documents

    • In addition to timetables in the ebulaML format, infraDOAS also supports viewing PDF timetables, for example for cross-border trips. A separate PDF section allows you to open two PDF documents side by side and keep them quickly accessible during the train movement. The documents can be stored locally or loaded from the cloud (depending on the operating system used).

Digital command

With the complete digitization of the commands, they are transmitted directly to the train drivers as soon as they are created. The digital commands are already available in the app before the start of the train movement and can be confirmed there directly. If additional commands are sent during the trip by the operations control, a notification is issued so they can be retrieved and confirmed. A central command overview also clearly displays all commands relevant for the train run. Continuous digitization noticeably speeds up workflows and reduces the likelihood of errors. Digital commands are an integral part of infraDOAS pro and make a significant contribution to safety and efficiency in train operations.

    The digital command in detail

    • Right after registering the train ride, the list of available commands is displayed. Here, it's also easy to see which commands still need to be acknowledged and which ones might already have been acknowledged (Image 1). Once a command has been fully read, it can be acknowledged. This is done in two steps, which helps prevent accidental acknowledgments. This ensures very high operational safety (Image 2). Commands that have already been carried out by the train driver can be marked as completed and are displayed accordingly. This makes it easier to keep track and ensures reliable handling of the commands (Image 3).

Digital La

In addition to the savings recommendation, the digital commands, and the smart timetable, the directory of slow zones (La) as well as route-specific features are also loaded and displayed automatically. When train drivers select an operational location in the timetable, the corresponding slow zones appear directly in the La section. This makes orientation much easier and eliminates the need for tedious searching through documents.

A sustainable path toward the future − with infraDOAS

infraDOAS is currently being tested by experienced, forward-thinking train drivers from various railway undertakings. Their direct feedback from use is continuously incorporated into the further development of the app.

What train drivers say

“The link between operating points in the timetable and speed restrictions in the La is a very practical feature that makes work easier for train drivers.”
DB Cargo AG, Mainz

“Seeing digital commands in real time on a tablet is a huge step forward and a great time saver compared to giving commands on paper and via radio.”
RTB Cargo Austria GmbH, Salzburg

“infraDOAS is an absolute game changer for train drivers! With timetables, La, digital commands and individual driving recommendations, everything is compact and user-friendly in one place. It makes everyday work so much easier!”
Silverstar Railways GmbH, Vienna

Experience the future of rail operations – ordering information

The order for infraDOAS includes access to the contents of the electronic management of train movements (ZFM interface according to the SNNB), depending on the selected license variant (light or pro). infraDOAS licenses are ordered and managed via the M-AMA online ordering system under the “Zugfahrtmanagement” tab. Authorized railway undertakings (RU) with a valid contractual relationship with ÖBB-Infrastruktur AG are eligible to order. The app is available for download from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.

  • Terms of use and further information

Fallback option in case of failure

    • The option to download timetable documents in advance ensures that the journey can still be completed even without a functioning data connection.
    • The previously used options for obtaining printed timetables and La booklets remain in place. The retrieval of these documents remains the responsibility of the railway undertaking.
    • In the event of a failure of the electronic command transmission system, it is the responsibility of the traffic control center to transmit commands verbally (or in writing).
    • Hardware provision and minimum hardware requirements
    • The railway undertaking is responsible for equipping employees with suitable hardware and for its operation. Mobile devices (e.g., tablets) must meet minimum requirements, see documents ZFM & infraDOAS .

    Mobile network operator selection
Data transfer between the ZFM interface and infraDOAS takes place via the public mobile network. Customers need a contract with a mobile network provider for this. It is the responsibility of the railway undertaking to select a mobile network operator that offers sufficient network coverage for data communication on the routes traveled.

    Organisation Code
The four-digit, alphanumeric code for uniquely identifying an undertaking in the railway sector is a requirement for using electronic train operation management. Since 01.01.2026, the code has replaced the RICS or Company Code and must be applied for at the ERA.
