More transparency and efficiency

ÖBB-Infrastruktur AG provides Railway Undertakings (RUs) with detailed information on past train journeys and train runs with the “Historical train journeys data provision” service. The data is provided retrospectively for entire operating days. The service supports RUs in analysing and optimising operational processes in a targeted manner. In view of the growing demands on the rail system in terms of stability, punctuality and resource efficiency, the data service promotes sustainable improvements and well-founded operational decisions.

RailML as the key to digitalisation

The data service provides all data in RailML format. RailML is an XML-based standard that was developed for the storage and exchange of rail-related data. RailML provides a standardized format for timetables and infrastructure information for improved interoperability between systems of Railway Infrastructure Managers and Railway Undertakings (RUs).
