Representing all our biodiversity and species protection projects throughout Austria, we celebrate our smallest employees and give wings to an oversized bee model in the main hall of Vienna's main railway station. Because nature is as close to our hearts as our infrastructure.

Vienna Main Bee Station on World Bee Day (Video in German)

World Bee Day is on 20 May. Station names of main stations all over Austria will be transformed into bee stations - for example, Vienna Main Station will become "Vienna Main Bee Station" ("Wien Hauptbienenhof").

    The next chapter in climate protection. From now on, selected railway green areas at ÖBB will be used as flowering meadows for bees. Therefore, today on the Day of the Bee, we are transforming station names of our main railway stations all over Austria into bee stations.

Bee fuel service Vienna Main Station (Video in German)

Even city bees have a flowering meadow – surrounding our ÖBB logo in the shape of a honeycomb. The bee station is located at the forecourt of Vienna Main Station and invites bees to refuel.

    The video shows the making-of the bee fuel station, starting with the necessary welding work in a welding shop for the scaffolding of the bee fuel station. The next step shows the carpenter working on the honeycomb logo. Finally, you can see the construction of the bee fuel station at Vienna Main Station and the planting of the flowering meadow for our city bees.
