Gloggnitz Tunnel Section

The over seven kilometre-long Gloggnitz tunnel section lies in Lower Austria. It extends from the tunnel portal to the access shaft at Göstritz near Schottwien.

Construction on this section started in summer 2015. Applying the excavation and blasting method, the tunnel driving is taking place at two construction sites. From the tunnel portal in Gloggnitz, ÖBB-Infrastruktur is excavating towards Mürzzuschlag. From the access shaft in Göstritz, the tunnellers are building towards Gloggnitz and Mürzzuschlag.
