Bad Hofgastein

Gastein Valley

In order to make rail travel to the idyllic mountain landscape of the Gastein Valley more attractive and comfortable, four stations in the Gastein Valley will be modernised and converted by 2027.

Extensive modernisation

The stations Schwarzach-St. Veit, Dorfgastein, Bad Hofgastein and Bad Gastein are becoming fit for our passengers. The overall focus of the modernisation is on different aspects of accessibility for easier access in the stations and on the railway-specific infrastructure. Modernisation and reconstruction of platforms and tracks, installation of lifts (except for Dorfgastein station), renewal or installation of passenger information and tactile guidance systems are some of the planned measures. These measures are made possible by funds from ÖBB-Infrastruktur AG, the province of Salzburg and the respective municipalities. For a modern railway infrastructure, new electronic interlockings will also be built on the line, which will ensure even more reliable, automatic operations.
