Modern station
All visible structures of the Semmering Base Tunnel – including the portal in Gloggnitz and the ventilation building above the emergency stop – will be architecturally supported by the advisory design committee.
The section comprises a length of tunnel in the cut-and-fill method, a substation in the area of Langenwang, operations buildings at the tunnel portal and the connection of the tunnel to the existing line. Mürzzuschlag railway station will be modernised during the construction phase. It is currently being equipped with lifts.
