Capacity planning information

Capacity strategy

Managing capacities, standardizing processes across Europe, increasing the competitiveness of rail transport. The capacity strategy is the first of three instruments for optimizing capacity planning and management processes for Europe-wide harmonization and digitalization.

Capacity model

Building on the capacity strategy, the capacity model comprises systematized infrastructure capacities for passenger and freight transport and is published in the Network Statement on a mandatory basis.

Timetable studies and concepts

Increasing capacity by means of optimised and economical infrastructure and network utilisation. We provide services to our customers, checking their planned services for compatibility with the relevant draft timetable or network usage plan and/or journey time calculation.
