A faster connection, more trains and an improved infrastructure: this is what the upgrade of the Pyhrn Line between Linz and Selzthal will bring. Since the 1980s, ÖBB's infrastructure has been expanding the line in sections on two tracks and modernising stations and stops. As a passenger, you will thus enjoy shorter travel times and barrier-free access to the platforms. In the long term, the extension of the Pyhrn Line should reduce travel time from around 15 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes between Linz main station and Selzthal.
Twenty of the approximately 100 kilometres of the line have already been upgraded to double track. The next section Hinterstoder–Pießling-Vorderstoder for the double-track extension as well as rebuilding of the stations Micheldorf and Kremsmünster are already in planning.
