The Mattig Valley Railway is being modernised step by step in several phases. The line between Braunau and Steindorf bei Straßwalchen has been extended to Neumarkt am Wallersee and has been given a modern terminal station. In addition, new electronic signal boxes, various station alterations and the modernisation or abandonment of railway crossings will bring a significant upgrade for the line and thus for you as a passenger. Not only from an ecological point of view, the electrification of the entire line from Neumarkt am Wallersee to Braunau is the highlight of the modernisation initiative.
