Reshaping Austria

In the coming years, around 1.8 billion euros will be invested in the further expansion and modernisation of regional railways. The regional network is to be modernised, expanded and made more environmentally friendly - for example by electrifying lines or making stations and stops more attractive. Our aim is to get as many people as possible enthusiastic about the railway. The regional railways can provide valuable feeder services and bring better infrastructure to rural areas. This also benefits the business location. By investing in the regions, we create local added value and safeguard jobs.
