About the construction work

Construction work at Völs station will begin in August 2026 and is expected to last until 2029. The modernisation will take place whilst rail services continue to operate and will be carried out in several phases. This means the station can continue to be used throughout the construction period.

To ensure the work can be carried out safely and efficiently, temporary changes will be necessary in the station area. These include altered access routes to platforms, temporary adjustments to footpaths and restrictions on the use of certain facilities. The Park & Ride and Bike & Ride areas will also be refurbished in stages.

Safety is the top priority throughout the construction period. Construction sites will be secured and clearly marked. Passengers are asked to follow the signposted routes.

Once the works are complete, the result will be a modern, accessible station with attractive interchange options, which will improve accessibility by train, bicycle and car and enhance Völs station’s status as a transport hub in the central Tyrol region.
