Revitalisation of a region
With a major investment initiative, ÖBB has modernised the railway infrastructure in Austria for generations to come. Existing stations have been renewed and adapted to the new requirements of passengers. This also includes providing optimal connectivity with regional bus services and creating parking spaces for cars, bicycles and motorbikes to make it as easy as possible to switch to the environmentally friendly railway. In addition to modernising the existing facilities, a new stop was built in Heinfels and two existing stations were relocated. All this with the aim of providing easy access to the railway for as many people as possible, as a genuine alternative to car traffic.
