Modern & barrier-free
The stations Katzelsdorf, Neudörfl, Bad Sauerbrunn, Mattersburg Nord, Marz-Rohrbach and Loipersbach-Schattendorf will get a new look. They will receive new platforms with modern customer information systems. Platform accesses will be designed barrier-free, which means that there will no longer be a difference in level between the edge of the platform and the modern regional train. It will no longer be necessary to climb a step. In future, you will also be able to reach the platform without having to take stairs. Accessibility will be provided either by the construction of lifts or ramps. The accessibility package is rounded off by the installation of a guidance system for the blind.

Goodbye barriers
In order to increase safety for all road users, it is planned to abandon some railway crossings and partially replace them with underpasses or overpasses. This will eliminate neuralgic crossing points between road and rail and avoid waiting times at closed barriers or in front of red traffic lights.
Sustainable thinking
Electrification is an important contribution to environmental protection. Diesel railcars will soon be a thing of the past on the Mattersburg Railway. This means that train traffic on the line will no longer produce pollutants. In the long run, the measures are an important contribution to shifting traffic from road to rail - because the more modern and convenient the access to the railway system becomes, the more people will switch from private to public transport.
