Upgrade Salzburg–Freilassing

On fast tracks from Austria to Germany: The train line from Salzburg Main Station to Freilasssing connects Bavaria to the Austrian rapid transit network, allowing passengers to arrive at their destination faster and in even greater comfort.

With the rapid transit train to Bavaria in only 15 minutes: The upgrade of the line between Salzburg and Freilassing will make this a reality end of 2017. Four new stops will connect further districts of Salzburg to the rapid transit network. From here, you can travel to Salzburg Old Town in total relaxation and without a traffic jam in sight. Direct connections and modern trains will ensure even greater comfort.

Attractive local transport in and around Salzburg

The efficient line between Salzburg Main Station and Freilassing is enhancing local transport. Its enhancement is taking place as part of the upgrade of the Western Line – the most important east-west connection in Austria – and its branch lines. In the past years, further sections of the rapid transit network as well as stops in and around Salzburg have been redesigned.

Your benefits from the upgrade of Salzburg–Freilassing

    • Better connections between Salzburg Main Station and Freilassing
    • Connection of Salzburg’s regions to the rapid transit network
    • Less traffic and noise for the population
