St. Pölten Main Station

Modern and fit for the future. This is how St. Pölten Main Station comes across as a transport hub and central gateway to the city.

Five years of remodelling during ongoing operations with special attention paid to heritage protection. A bright, light-drenched hall in the historic centre section. Numerous shopping opportunities, lifts and escalators make travelling a pleasure. Further new features are the eight platforms, the Schöpferstraße underpass and the eastern pedestrian tunnel.

Key element along the Western Line

Track and overhead line systems are new and fit for the future. These connect St. Pölten to the high-speed Western Line.

Large forecourt

The totally new concept for accessing the railway station and the adjacent traffic areas serve as traffic-calming measures. The spacious forecourt on the south side forms the transition to the pedestrian zone in the historic city centre. The newly designed area to the north is a hub for regional and national bus services. Short-stay parking and an additional five-storey parking structure offer sufficient space for car drivers. For cyclists, there are covered parking bays.
