The remodelling of Tulln railway station is part of the modernisation initiative in Lower Austria. Work to modernise the station Tulln an der Donau in accordance with the requirements for heritage listed buildings started in January 2017. The new-look station will be unveiled in autumn 2019. However, from the end of 2018, as a passenger you will already have access to two new barrier-free island platforms, the redesigned customer area in the station building, a bakery, a new covered Bike&Ride station with 100 bicycle and 20 two-wheeler parking spaces as well as to a redesigned pedestrian passage. Further follow-on projects, such as the construction of a Park&Ride facility, a Kiss&Ride zone on the station forecourt as well as the upgrade of noise protection are being implemented jointly by the province of Lower Austria, the municipality of Tulln an der Donau and ÖBB.
More comfort and accessibility
After completion of the work, the station Tulln an der Donau will welcome you in a new and modern design, with increased customer comfort, barrier-free access and optimal passenger information. Through modernisation measures such as the open and brightly designed station building, a tactile guidance system for visually impaired people, or glazed platform waiting areas with seating, ÖBB is trying to further increase customer satisfaction. As a local transport hub, Tulln station on the Danube is an important transport hub for the country with its approximately 8,000 passengers. Therefore, the reconstruction is also being carried out during ongoing railroad operations.
